Every year, Danny & I have the most appreciated opportunity to vacation with his side of the family. We venture down to Ocean City, New Jersey for a week over the fourth of July. He has family from Pittsburgh, Philly, and this year Iowa who all get houses on the shore. OCNJ feels like a second home to us by now. Every year we look forward to our traditions and are so familiar with the area that we walk, bike, and drive with ease. Danny & I venture to a lot of new places, but there's something so special about being able to go somewhere relaxing and familiar. We're incredibly appreciative for my in-laws enabling us to go to the beach for a week!

Some of our traditions include at least two trips to the beach super early for sunrise to take pictures and look for shells. Sunsets and sunrises are my favorite things to view and photograph! Afterwards we usually ride our bikes on the boardwalk, get some Ocean City Coffee Company and sketchily ride our bikes back with coffee in one hand. I also run with Danny on the boardwalk in the early morning, but one day is about all I promise. We also are completely obsessed with a coffee, donut, & ice cream shop that opened last year, Drip N' Scoop! They have delicious donuts and the best nitro cold brew coffee I've ever had. I'd be lying if I said we didn't go to Drip N' Scoop just about everyday. We also always go to the bay side one evening for tailgating and a seafood dinner with the whole family at Smitty's. We also walk the boardwalk just about every night which at some point has to include Kohr's Brothers & after hours on sale Manco & Manco pizza. Another tradition started in college when Danny surprised me with a weekend camping trip to Ocean City, New Jersey. We arrived around dinner time and walked on the beach as the sun set, but then quickly needed to find a place to eat. We were at the very end of the shops and places on the boardwalk before the houses start, and there we found Bob's. Now every year Danny & I go on a "date night" to Bob's and sit in the same booth and order the same food.

Other than spending our days on the beach, those are the checklist traditions that we make sure to get through while on vacation. This year for the fourth it didn't rain, so we got to head down to the beach with blankets and mugs on coffee in hand to watch the fireworks! Most of my photos are from the sunrise and the fireworks. I try to maintain a balance of vacationing and taking enough photos that I feel like I captured at least a part of it. Here's a look into our beach adventure!
